Making the Home a Little Homier

Lately we've been getting the house a bit more organized and comfortable so we can finally have some relaxation time. The room that is the most done in the house is our bedroom..we have a new set of furniture and I've been trying to decide what bedding to get, the color(s) we want the room, so on and so on. I came across this amazing comforter while I was shopping with my mom a while back and wrote down the brand to remember it. Well I just looked up the Bella Notte website and it's stunning..I love absolutely everything on it. Now if only I could afford it..yikes! Why do I have expensive taste??
this one's probably my favorite. it's so simple

blast from the past

When I was home visiting family last week, Matt, Amanda and I were in the car listening to the radio, and what came on....Enigma - Return to Innocence! Oh my gosh Amanda and I belted out singing as Matt sat quietly awkward in the back haha We've loved that song so much ever since we heard it on 'Man of the House', the awesome (now oldies) movie that starred Jonathan Taylor Thomas. We had never know the name of the song or the band that sang it, and thanks to new technology, Amanda looked it up and posted it to my facebook. Haha made my day! here it is..
Don't worry, I've already played it 7 times

wahoo wednesday

Zoey has been growing ummm way too fast..so today we got her a great new kennel that she can stay in for a while. She didn't take to it very well at first and ran to her puppy kennel, so Matt laid a trail of treats into the new kennel and wa-la! she fell for it..love those treats! such a little monster I also did a little holiday shopping for the house. I'm so excited for the fall crafts that will be taking place this weekend:)

9/11

Today, we remember the tragic events that came to our doorstep 10 years ago. I hope you will pray for the souls that were lost and those who are fighting for us right now so that we may live in peace.

home sweet home

Just got back from Iowa's Hy-Vee Triathlon and it was awesome, but it feels so great to be home! Here's a little recap from last week....

Tuesdays workout with Kris was KILLER! We did our usual stretches and warm up, but hit the grind when we began the circuit training..whoooweee! We rotated out between 30 second intervals of push-ups, dead lifts, and kettle bell exercises. After finishing 3 rounds we moved onto a core workout on the yoga mats that felt so good, I was sore for an entire three days! We finished up the workout with a few sprints outside which Matt, Tory and I were completely exhausted by; however, I love the euphoric state at the end of it all. It's always rewarding:)

Thursday was mainly a day of packing and organizing for the trip to Iowa. Trying to find a place to board Zoey was tremendously difficult since she's only 2 and a half months old, so sweet sweet Tory kept an eye on her for us which we were so thankful for! Zoey has a great time at the Nolan house anyway since they have 3 dogs to keep her on her toes:) The three boys and I also have started a weekly photography competition. We are given a week to complete the challenge..and last week was to take (what I thought was supposed to be the cutest picture of Zoey) but the three boys said it needed to be the best picture of Zoey. Well, here are the entires...let us know which is your favorite!
Megan's Matt's and Joe's Yes yes I know Joe's is a pretty amazing representation of Zoey, and Matt's photoshop skills stomp me every time, but just look how cuh-yute she is with that little tongue sticking out..what a sas! John wasn't quite ready for this first round of photos, so he judged; and the winner was JOE! :D I need to step up my game for the next one!

Friday morning we said goodbye to our little baby and left to Des Moines, Iowa for a Hy-Vee triathlon event. Our EONI(Earth's Own Natural Ingredients) line for Hill Country Bakery IS NOW in HEB and Sprouts in all of Texas. We're currently negotiating with Hy-Vee, a large grocery chain in the north, about getting EONI in their stores..our reason for being there. I've never been to Des Moines before so I was ready to explore. It was such a beautiful town! Full of art and cute shops, and just look at that capitol! The area where the triathlon began was at a beautiful lake just off of the Raccoon River ::it is so green and lush:: Groups of people flocked our EONI booth to try the yummy samples and enjoyed receiving the free t-shirts and bracelets we had to offer. With all of the great feedback and complements, I sure hope they get ready for the big bang it's going to make in the north! ;)
