As newlyweds, I thought it would be great for Matt and I to keep our family and friends updated on the exciting adventures we're getting to share together :) With an interest in food, fashion, decorating and other hobbies, I will also be documenting some yummy recipes, some of my favorite shopping spots, and our new home as it grows.
Recap: I'll start back in spring 2010 when Matt graduated from Texas A&M (whoop!) and came to San Antonio to work as a graphic designer for Hill Country Bakery. It was so great because he was closer to me (in San Marcos) so we finally were able to spend more time with each other. Being 2 hours away was a little tough with school projects and different agendas, so having him only 45 minutes away was amazing.
September 27th, 2010: WE GOT ENGAGED! Matt surprised me with a beautiful ring at the end of dinner at the awesome Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. He can be so romantic :)
I went on to graduate from Texas State in the fall with a photography degree and am currently working for Hill Country Bakery as well. I absolutely love my job and I get to work alongside my wonderful husband!

House Hunting! It has it's ups and downs when you're searching for your first home. Matt of course was looking for the biggest one, and I was looking for a flowing layout and a nice large kitchen:) We had a great realtor who quickly figured out a style that would work for both of us after showing us just 4 homes. Around the end of January we had a top 3; weighing the pros and cons of each, we finally decided on 'the one' and purchased our first home in February! aaaahhh! We absolutely love it! We bought it as a short sale so it had some work to do on the inside. With stains in the carpet, kitchen halfway finished, and ugly tile on the floor and fireplace, we were ready to tackle the challenges of fixing it up and making it our own.

Aloha from Hawaii! We married on Maui April 30th, 2011!!! Best day of my life:) The whole day was perfect from start to finish. We had a delicious buffet breakfast at our hotel that morning, laid out by the gorgeous infinity pool, and were just completely relaxed. Matt would be upset if I didn't share that he did an eating challenge for lunch that day. We ate at the Hawaiian Paradise Burger and the challenge was to eat a 2 patty burger with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, jalapenos, and egg sitting on top of chili cheese fries all in 20 minutes! hahahaha So I started the timer on my phone, and when the waitress brought the monstrous burger to the table, the horror began. He cut it in half and ate the first half in just 5 minutes! The second half wasn't near as easy but he certainly pulled it off in the end...all for a t-shirt! Afterwards, he jokingly said "how could this day get any better!"..i didn't laugh however, since we were getting married later that evening.

A hair dresser came to our hotel room and did my hair, I got ready in my dream dress, and he looked mighty handsome in his khakis and white button-up. We drove to Poolenalena Beach where we met up with the wedding coordinator, photographer, videographer and pastor. It was a sunset wedding and the weather was more than I could ask for, with a slight breeze and the mist from the ocean waves nearby, the soft sand beneath my toes and my future husband glancing back at me as I walked toward him. Matt and I exchanged vows, rings and kisses, took a few photos with the beautiful scenery behind us and we were on our way. I wouldn't change anything about that day :)
wedding pictures coming soon...
After enjoying ourselves for another week on Maui and Oahu, we're back to putting the house together, spending time with family and friends, and appreciating the many blessings God has sent our way.
